Wednesday, 10/5

NU- We discussed the meaning of denotation and connotation. Denotation means the dictionary definition of a word. Connotation refers to the positive and negative associations that many words have. Scholars then worked on their Vocabulary Week 2 flashcards. We are studying the root PHOTO and the prefixes IM, IN, and IL this week. The vocabulary assessment will be on Monday. After vocabulary we had independent reading.

WSU- Today scholars analyzed three fake Facebook profiles to infer information about the person's life. The profiles contained both text and images that the students used to make their inferences. Next, scholars worked on making Vocabulary week 2 flashcards, which are due tomorrow. Finally, we had independent reading.

Augsburg- Scholars learned how to use their prior knowledge and evidence from the text to make an inference about short, fictional passages. They then worked on their Vocabulary Week 2 flashcards.
